It is our philosophy that children be encouraged to learn and grow by providing a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences where all children can succeed in a safe and nurturing environment. We believe that each child is a unique individual and that all children can learn. Our preschool programs provide inclusive settings that recognize children’s varied abilities, interests, needs and learning styles.
We recognize that parents are the child’s first teachers. Children are more successful when parents are involved in their educations program. The primary bridge between home and school is the involvement of family and community.
We believe that children learn best through meaningful play. Our child centered program reflects the integration of physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, self-help and aesthetic areas for the total development of the child. Meaningful play encourages curiosity, discovery and problem solving which allows individual growth and development of positive self-image.
The statement and beliefs in this philosophy reflect the position of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The Academy is licensed for students age 2 ½ and up with full and part-time schedule options. Our Half Day program runs from 8:30am-12:00pm and our Full Day program from 8:30am-2:30pm. Our program allows children
grow and develop in a warm, friendly, and secure environment. We want to do
whatever we can to ensure that children attending our center will find
themselves exceptionally well prepared for future schooling.
Our PreK and Junior K programs are designed to teach math and reading readiness, science, history, art, music…etc., in an interesting and intelligible way, considering every child’s intellectual and physical development.
Our toddler program is designed to promote the physical, emotional, intellectual, and language development of young children. Our professional teachers are ready to meet the children's individual needs, from feeding and changing to napping and playing.
The children of the OLQP Academy have access to a safe and clean play area indoors and out. The children often walk to an adjacent field to explore new territory. They are also given opportunity to play alone and in small or large groups both indoors and out.
The staff of the Academy meet or exceeds the state requirements for teacher certification in a child care setting. All our staff members are dedicated, respectful, and responsible early childhood professionals strongly committed to the exceptional care and development of young children. Our center encourages the staff and provides opportunities for them to continue their professional development by attending conferences, workshops, and professional certification training.
